Pre-Breeder Pepper.
Job description:
You will be responsible to lead in a structured way the trait- and pre-breeding activities in pepper.
These activities will support the mainstream breeding in three ways:
- Developing gene pools with specific traits.
- Developing the molecular tools to transfer traits into the breeding program.
- Developing genetic knowledge to improve selection efficiency.
Your qualifications:
PhD in plant breeding or genetics
In depth working knowledge of horticulture, agronomy, genetics, pathology, statistics, physiology, and molecular genetics.
Project management, data analysis, data management
Population development, experimental design, phenotyping
Experience in working with multi gene traits.
Must be able to communicate well with peers to develop common projects.
Must be able to manage several projects at the same time.
Willing to travel to places of interest for the pre-breeding;
Creative, pragmatic, consistent and persistent.
Good communicative and interpersonal skills; team player.
Client focused and result driven.
Feeling for the marketing aspects related to downstream customers.
Able to translate customers problems into novel genetic solutions.
Analytical thinking, innovative and problem solving.
Fluency in English is a must.
